European DX-Contest SSB 2003

Kommentare

4X0T: Not so good conditions in 10 m - I'm sorry.

8P6SH: FIRST WITH THE NEW FORCE 12 C3E

9V1UV: band condx kept changing. 10M was dead all thru.

9Y4TBG: This was my first time WAE outside EU. First I had my doubts to be too far away from EU, but I produced good signals in EU and I got good signals from EU. 10m was a real challenge. I always heard the PYs working EU and I copied absolutely nothing. 15, 20 and 40 got my mainbands, in spite of my good signal on 40m I had problems to get through the EU QRM (yes, you even have that problems in the Carribean). In the first night I had no problems on 80m even getting some LP/Dipole-Stations. In the second night I was forced to save my voice for sunday. On the whole it was a big fun and a great experience for me. Wished my Anja could follow me on this trip.

AE4EC: CONDITIONS WERE BETTER THAN EXPECTED BUT NOT ENOUGH OPERATE TIME

BW0IR: Very bad propagation on 28 MHz in my country.

CQ0T: Operated 29.9 Hours Very few countries were active from DX, maybe because of Conditions.

DC1OBB: Der erste DX-Contest, hat Spass gemacht.

DF0TX: Leider ging 10m schlecht, aber ansonsten viel Spass. Super Wetter und tolles Team !

DF7YU: WITH THE SAME RIG A BIG DIFFERENCE COMPARED TO LAST YEARS 2002 WAEDC SSB CONTEST: ONLY FEW QSO ON 10. NO LONG RUNS TO THE US ON 15 AND 20. HOWEVER DOUBLE OF LAST YEARS 40 AND 80 METERS CONTACTS. I WISH MANY MORE STN WOULD KNOW HOW TO EXCHANGE QTC. ALWAYS BIG FUN!

DG7RO: first WAE Contest-just for fun and it was fun with my station TS850+Monoband-Dipol(without balun!)+80W. no QTCs, but next year with QTCs.

DJ1AA: Only 3 QSOs on 80m, what a bad result. I have to do a lot of work to build a better DX Antenna for the future contests.

DJ7BA: THIS YEAR I COULD WORK ONLY A FRACTION OF THE PERMITTED CONTEST TIME DUE TO OTHER OBLIOGATIONS, BUT I ENJOYED IT ANYWAY.

DJ9RX: Der Süden hatte mal wieder die besseren Cond. auf 10/15/20 Meter, also Multiplizieren Sie mein Ergebnis_mit 2...Hi..73 de Hans.

DL0DV: First try as multi op. Have to look for more mults!

DL5MAE: It's the year 2003 and I am still logging with paper log.

DL6JFT: Nobody answered my CQ-Call , so I had to graze. It was a hard job with my poor antennas. Congrates for this nice contest - till next year.

DL6MHW: I used RCKLog for the first time. It plays very smooth for QTC handling. Conditions: Every body missed North America on 10.

DL7CX: Controllog

DL8QS: better condx as in wae-cw ..but 10m in northern Germany was not open.. nice activitys from DX!

DP1POL: Conditions continue to improve as summer is slowly approaching in the Southern hemisphere, so I could enjoy nice 20 meter openings into Europe on both days of the contest after work. Some stations were obviously not using current country files. In one case it took a lengthy discussion and a lot of persuasion to finally convince the other operator that I was really not in Europe.

EA1DDO: My first WAE participation. At the beggining I had a computer time logging problem, but fixed latter. Generally It was great. New for me the QTC procedure but did it well. 10 meters band almost closed, just open for SudAmerica, other bands nice. See you next year. Thank you to everybody. UNASSISTED

EA3BOX: Very good contest like every year!

EA6AZ: Just a couple of hours left for this one, sri.

EI4CF: Bands were quite good and 10m was worth watching.

G0MTN: More QSOs and many more QTCs than before. Still only a part time effort but glad to be a part of WAEDC !

G3UFY: RIG - FT1000MP + FL2100Z ANTENNAS - Tribander (HF) + Loop (7MHz) + Marconi (3.5MHz) Some good scores heard, despite generally poor condx.

G3VAO: First time I have been in EU for this contest. Pity I was limited to only 1 hour I will be looking forward to next year

GW7X: THIRD TIME USING GW7X CALL FROM MY HOME STATION IN WAEDC SSB, HOPE TO GET ANOTHER TOP-TEN LISTING THIS YEAR!

HB9VID: Someone has to be the last !! 73, HB9VID

IK0YVV: I've planned just few hrs,but i had more free time so about 30h on.Cndx seems not so bad on 15 and 20 ,unluckly on 15 i had to use just a vertical due to high swr on SSB portion by the beam, very poor antenna far on 40 and 80 so my main band has been 20m. I had fun, too much stations answered "no QTCs".....Tnx DARC team fr this nice event! See u sn! IK0YVV Marco

IK7FMQ: Propagazione buona. Mo sono divertito.

IR2V: -- NO PACKET -- I have been in the SSB part for fun. Glad to have been around to give out qso's and receive QTC's SSB people seems to be happier to give out QTC's than the CW ops. Is that because "speaking" is far a lot better then "keying"? Somebody seemed afraid, and quickly said: I give you, I give you! They surely remembered how "aggresive" we have been in the cw run! hi! Cu next one. Bob, I2WIJ

IZ7EDQ: Good contest for me!

J20RM: Zuviel QRL, zuwenig Leistung fuer SSB - man wurde einfach "ueberhoert".

J48IS: Schlechte Bedingungen vom Urlaubs-QTH aus.

JA1KK: QTC is nothing.

JA1YPA: IT WAS NICE CONTEST FOR ME WHEN DOING QTC. I WANT TO TRY NEXT YEAR AGAIN.

JA2BQX: Tnx nice contest

JA8JCR: TNX FB CONTEST

JE1COB: Thanks a lot

JG1VGX: QTC rules are a lot of fun. I like this contest! Enjoyed with 50 watts and a long wire (only four meters long) plus ATU.

JH1UUT: No signals from EU on 28 MHz band.

JI3OPA: This is my first WAE-SSB contest. Thanks to the audio samples, I enjoy QTC traffic very much.

JK8WBR: It is the nice contest!

K1BV:Many EU club stations very loud but did not hear many "little" stations.

K4JA: We had great fun this year with new 80m 9-circle antenna. Check out all the details at K4JA.com

K4YKZ: Thanks to all the patient stations that took my QTCs. Next year I hope the quad will be up again.

K5ZD: Only 4 hours, but great fun!

K9JS: Only S&P operation, after seeing the complaints about lack of QTC's in the CW contest, I offered what ever I had when I was asked. Maybe this made the ops happier? No energy for FT effort, but wanted to do what I could.

KD4D: Thanks to John Evans, N3HBX, for the use of his fine station. This was a lot of fun. I especially enjoyed working all of the new callsigns. High points included being called by SV9FBG and T77M for new countries! It seemed like no one wanted QTC's on Sunday. I didn't get rid of all mine. WAE is still my favorite contest!

LA1VKA: I was at work almost all weekend, but try my best and it was funny!

LU7DW: Only few hours to say hello to many friends

LX1KC: check log

LX7I: Due to some other activities I had to start a little bit later the contest and also stop earlier.Improved my score from last year. No condition on 10M.

LY2IJ: Tnx to LY1PM for his nice station!

LY9Y: Our last activity in WAE SSB M/S was almost 16 years ago

LZ4UU: TNX for nice contest - hope to meet all of you next year too!

N3RD: 15m was in fair shape during the times that I was on. 10m produced no QSOs at all. Good fun, and enjoyed sending the QTCs back to the competitors who needed them. See you next year.

N7GYD: Great contest with lots of activity.

N9RV: Had fun with good low sunspot conditions. Not a peep out of ten meters, but fantastic activity from Western and Central Europe made this a great contest.

NX9T: Lots of fun. I only had about 4 hours to operate but really enjoyed the contest. Thanks! 73, Jeff NX9T www.qsl.net/nx9t

OE6Z: First time SO2R - fried one radio after 5 hours of operation and left with secondary radio for the rest of the contest. Still great fun and lots of activity! 73 Mike, OE6Z/OE6MBG

OH4RH: The logger made serial numbers as 4 digits..like 0001, I cannot repear easy, hope no problem there!

OK1DRQ: RIG:KENWOOD TS140S - MAX. 100 Watts ANT: only GP 80-10 m / Copie HF6 / sri, ICH HABE KEINE ZEIT, ABER GUT KONTEST, AWDH IN 2004 JAHR 73 DE PAVEL OK1DRQ

OK1DVK: Extremely poor propagation; in spite of that I worked 2 new countries on SSB.

OK2ABU: Tnx for nice contest and results book from 2002.

OK6A: Very fine contest and I hope to meet everybody next year. TU!

ON4KVA: VERT DIFFICULT FOR THIS CONTEST (for my !)

ON6NL: Great to be back again in the WAE! Always liked the contest because the QTCs separate the boys from the men.

ONL383: Always very difficult for the listeners to take the QTCs because we are still coming in the middle of the "recitation"!

PA0IJM: Thanks for this nice contest, except the QTC system.

PA0LSK: Nice contest.

PI4CC: Very late decided to take part in this contest and thanks to crew of PI4CC for using there station ! Not so good CNDX and very tired OP.....!

PX2W: Rig: IC-706 MKII, hand mic, old Canadian amplifier (1967) with 2x 4CX250B. Ant: 10 meters - 5 el. Yagi Home made (6.7 m boom) up 13 meters. 15 meters - 5 el. Yagi home made (8 m boom) up 11 meters. 20 meters - Just a wire put up on sunday up +/- 7 meters. 40 meters - dipole up 10 meters in trees. 80 meters - dipole up 11 meters. Comments: We decided few minutes before start the contest no entry as M/S. We was from a holiday QTH in Sao Miguel Arcanjo, about 100 km south my home QTH in Sorocaba. The amplifier running 200 watts on 10m, 300 on 15 and 400 on 40 and 80 meters. Good surprise to work 69 stations on 40 meters phone, thanks guys! 20 meters we put a single wire only sunday, but no time to work there because we come back to Sorocaba sunday afternoon. Operated only few hours, but to just 20 hours on and all conditios there, this is a good score.
