European DX-Contest SSB 2002

Kommentare

3V8SQ: It was my married travel, so I have only 30 hours for activity as 3V8SQ. It was nice adventure to work as DX station in WAEDC 2002. I want to thank for help to local operators Midou and Anouar. Nice contest. CU next year.

4Z5FI: The WAEDC is the contest of my preference. Many thanks to EU stations.

9A7P: Thanks for bringing on low power category. Enjoyed the contest very much! See you next year that's for sure!

9V1UV: My first experience for WAE contest. The QTC traffic made it more interesting.

CJ3NU: First time entry as SO for WAE... it was FUN !! Only S&P effort. FT-847 with a Vertical antenna (18AVT) on ground. At times it worked wonders, most other time it was a real effort.

DF0HQ: WAEDC is the best thanks for a great weekend

DF7YU: Tough job on 40 and 80 meters with just 100 Watts. The only way to get a better score with just 100 Watts is to ask for qtcs as of the first qso.

DH6WS: My best year ever with great condx! Hope to meet you all again next year!

DJ1AA: This WAE Contest 2002 I logged the first time QTCs. It pushed me up in the possible scores.

DJ7BA: Condx were favorable, and many nice DX countries on all continents were reached with 100 watts only. I appreciate the new power classes. Because of the fast contest operations pileups never grow too large to get the DX. Most stations used QTCs this year. The new country multiplier rules inflated my score by 32% in comparison. I used a DX Cluster for the first time in a contest, and I like it.

DK1YG: Meine 1.

DL6FBR: Tried QTCs for the first time - with fun and some sweating.

Hope cuagn next year.

DL8FP: Single Op without PC, DX Cluster all things - do it yourself - and 63 years old. After 40 years participation WAE I decided I lose some concentration, hi.

EA1BP: Lots of fun in the mountain with my QRP!! Why not QRP category like in the WAG?? First time taking part in the contest. See you the next!!

EA4WC: I come back to the radio since 18 years, now is very different. This is my first partipation in this contest, and I think that is very interesting for the QTC.

EA8-1883-URE: I hope to do it again next year!

EI4CF: Really enjoyed my first WAE. 69 qtcs - they take getting used to.

F6FJE: A lot of South American stations on the air (10 m band included). Large participation around the world.

G3SEM/MM: This was my hardest contest ever. No one wanted to work me, because they all thought I was in Europe. Most people's software didn't allow them to enter a /MM suffix. No Software would seem to accept QTC's from a G Prefix. Try explaining all this when only running 5 watts on the same bearing as the whole of the USA whilst trying to hold everything down in winds of up to 40 miles per hour. Suggest rules are modified for /AM and /MM outside Europe say 5 points and a multiplier! How about a Certificate for the only station moving at 30 mph away from Europe through out the contest. The only Non DXCC entity station to enter!!!

GW0GEI: Just a token entry this year, as family commitments prevented me from putting in a full time effort. Still one of the best contests in the calender.

GW7X: First serious entry using Writelog.

JA3AOP: This is my 1st entry for WAEDC. I enjoyed QSOs with EU stations especially on 40 and 80m bands.

JA4DPL: Just a couple of hours left for this one, sri.

JA8JCR: I participated in WAEDC after a long time (25 years). A QTC rule is pleasant. Next RTTY is also a participating schedule.

JA9SCB/1: The propagation on 10m was not so good. See you next year!

JH1RDU: Next year I will more QSOs.

JR3BVX: Thank you QSO with me in spite of my weak signal. Because I used 7 MHz dipole antenna!

K0DAT: Perhaps should be later in the fall for US stations better conditions!

K4JA: Had fun as always. Thanks to DARC for another great year!

K9JLS: What a cool contest! I only could play a bit on Friday night & Saturday but was so taken by the contest structure, I quickly built a Dipole Sunday morning and strung it inside my apartment, managed to make 5 more contacts with low power! Normal contest operation is done from my Father's shack (AI9U) about 1 hour from my QTH. Hope to do a FT effort next year!

KG4RZH: This is my first participation in a DX contest I used VA QSO software since I knew it, and didn't have a chance to learn one of the approved ones. I submit this log more to ensure the people I QSOed with get their points if possible, than to earn a lot of points on my own. I enjoyed working countries I had never talked to before. I exchanged no QTCs since it took me a while to figure out what they were, and I wasn't asked very often.

KQ2M: Great contest! Wish I had more time to operate but too many family commitments. I look forward to operating full-time someday. German stations were fabulous with QTC - what a pleasure!

LA1VKA: I was at work almost all weekend, but try my best and it was funny!

LX1NO: Participated mainly to verify the newly created QTC EU-part within LL. Condx were lousy, considered family and social life to have a higher ranking than contesting.

LX7I: Next year will try to get more QTCs.

MW5EPA: Battled for around 28 hrs but with just the vertical antenna it was difficult. I enjoyed the QTC's. Though and it was nice to work a few friends as well as some nice DX. Next Year I hope to have a better station and no complaints of Telephone RFI

N1WR/3: This was a weekend for Murphy! First, my DVP wouldn't work. I still have a sore throat! Then, one of the microphone adapter cables failed a few hours in. Back to SO1R. Then, the packet wouldn't stay up... ended up using the packet node display and a pencil! And then the power went out for half an hour Sunday afternoon! Special thanks to EI4DW and YO9HP for moving to 40 for me, and Wayne (N1WR) for letting me use his fine station! WAE is still my favorite contest!

N2VW: My first WAEDC in 1975 (15,694 points) was my initiation into Contesting. After more than 27 years addicted to Contesting, I don't know whether to curse WAEDC or bless it! Always a fun and a great contest!

N6ZZ: Surprisingly good conditions to Europe from New Mexico...the sunspots were kind to us!

N8II: Motto for the contest: Call CQ and they will answer! (whether or not they are serious competitors). About 15-20% of stations calling sent serial number of less than 10 received! Conditions very poor on 75M. 10M was strange, stations from Russia were louder than Germany Saturday. Then Sunday, only the Southern tier of Eu was workable til around 1500Z. The British isles and Ireland came thru quite late on 10M for a whopping 5 min or so! Many thanks to EA6/DL6KAC, TF8GX, MD3EIP, ZB2CF, and 9H1PI for QSY'ing to another band for the multipliers. My mult total was great on 15M, disappointing on 20M. 15M was by far the best band with good contions both days. N9RV: Great conditions. Bands were quiet, and there was a lot of activity. 10 was open very well to southern EU, but the UK and Scandanavian boys were non-existent. If this contest is any guide, it should be a great contest season.

OK2-9329: Very good Contest and also perfect DX and EU operators. QTC traffic was very interesting. This year is 40 years of my radio activity. Take place in WAEDC from 1979.

ONL383: Always a pleasure to be active in your wonderful contest.

PA0IJM: A nice contest except the QTC system. I am a contester and not an administrator (hi).

PA0KDM: Fine test condx. Below normal. Hope on next year. 79 years young.

PA0MIR: A lot has changed since my first participation in 1968 but I am still hand-logging most of the QTC traffic is the most efficient. However, right after receiving I enter them in the logging program, losing some operating time but keeping the after-work to a minimum. Anyway enjoyed meeting with old and new friends. Best QSO was with ZL6QH (on 7 MHz) where I know the operating position exactly, having visited in november 2001.

RA3XO: My mind changed. Don't want ask anybody for anything (including QTCs). Have got joy as always in WAEDC. Thanks.

RU4SS: I was very happy to join the contest. See you next year!

RW1AC: SO2R all time contest and it was first experience for me. Poor condx on 20 mtrs at nights.

SL4CM: Thanks for a nice contest! Unfortunately our computer crashed after the test and we lost all QTC-data... We - however - managed to recrate the log without the QTCs. CU all next year!

SP2UUU: Nice contest. May in next year will more and better for me.

SP4GFG: Home made mini transceiver, 9.6 watts.

SP6DVP/6: This was my 17th WAEDC SSB since 1969.

TF3AO: Had only time to operate for 5 hours, most thrill was when ZL5CP called me and gave me 001. I also haven't wkd that many Alaska stations in a contest b4.

UY7C: Have a lot of pleasure to work NA and SA tations with 100 watts and one delta loop antenna. See you in 2003!!

VE3BUC: 4 hour power outage during severe storm Saturday evening. poor friday night conditions. lots of sleep. lots of QRM from VE3SY who was 4 feet away running high power. great time and beat last year's score.

VE9FX: Unfortunately I didn't do very well this year due to unexpected company and a failed amplifier. However, it was still lots of fun and the WAE contests (ssb & rtty) continue to be my favorites.

VE9MY: Great Contest, Too bad 10 meters and 80 were not open.

VU3DJQ: This is my 3 WAE phone contest. Good propagation conditions

W2YC: Great contest!! Many great operators from EU....tnx to all.

W6AFA: Good conditions on 15 meters! See you next year!

W9RE: Nice to work Europe on 10 meters, hopefully still more in fall.

WA5SWN: Propagation on 10 meters was poor, and on 20 meters awful but the contacts I made were good ones and I enjoyed participating.

WN4M: Fantastic contest. This was my first WAE but not my last. Thanks.

WP3GW: Not so good conditions; there were countries I coudln't hear but again happy to be multiplier for some stations; saludos desde Puerto Rico!

YL7A: WAE is interesting contest, I like it very much. In 2001 I have problems with QTC log, but now all must be OK. Hope to see in WAE RTTY.

YO4GNJ: It's my first WAE Contest.

YO6AJI: Excellent contest!

ZC4DW: The condx were excellent, especially on 10m for both days. I thought 20m, 40m and 80m were all slightly better the second day.
