Most stn's worked were good sigs but seemed to be selective so appeared thin on the ground. One or two didn't hear me calling. Surprised not to hear G3RCV/P on any band and G3BJ/P only on one band. This is checklog only.

Pünktlich zum Aufbaubeginn begann es zu regnen und nun machte sich unser vereinfachtes Aufbauprinzip bezahlt. Einigermaßen trocken, relaxt und pünktlich konnten wir den Contest starten. Zu Contestbeginn sorgte das verwendete Logprogramm für emotionale Diskussionen zwischen den Ops. Die Ansichten schienen unvereinbar, doch dann wurde sich verständigt, die F-Tasten wurden so programmiert, das jeder zufrieden war. Mit voller Konzentration konnte das Vorjahresergebnis um 20% verbessert werden. Die condx waren mäßig, aber mit unserer Doppelzepp klappte es ganz gut. Die Stimmung war Dank der Grillkunst und der Verstärkung aus der Braun'schen Röhre wieder hervorragend. Danke auch an die vorbeischauenden Besucher, die trotz Regen sich nicht scheuten uns zu motivieren. Der CW FD 2009 war wieder eine runde Sache, die einige OMs im OV motivierten sich mal wieder mit Funkbetrieb zu beschäftigen. awdh in 2010 de Contesteam O47 (DF7DJ, DL1AXX, DL5YAD, DJ9IE, DL1DAW)

Es hat mal wieder viel Spaß in QRP gemacht, Antennen wurden zusätzlich aufgebaut und optimiert!

Unser zweitbestes Ergebnis im CW-Teil des FD überhaupt; aber wir werden unseren dritten Platz vom letzten Jahr nicht halten können: Zu starke Konkurrenz aus der oberen Klasse drängt herein..... Wie immer war der FD ein Top-Ereignis in unserem OV C01. Auch wenn wir nur zwei OPs waren, so ist es doch eindeutig eine Anstrengung des ganzen OV, die viel Teamgeist erfordert und schafft. Toll, dass 10m und 15m über längere Strecken spot-light Ausbreitungsbedingungen bescherte. Grauenhaft war das (Gewitter-)Krachen auf 160 und 80, das die beiden Bänder über viele Stunden praktisch unbrauchbar machte. Da wir es trotzdem versuchten, befürchten wir nicht unerhebliche Punktabzüge... ."

Pünktlich zum Aufbau hat es auch angefangen zu regnen und erst wieder aufgehört als alles aufgebaut war. Wir waren alle nass bis auf die Knochen. Die Ausbreitungsbedingungen waren auch sehr durchwachsen. Trotzdem hat es wieder viel Spaß gemacht. AWDH zum SSB-Teil!

Das Wetter hat uns diesmal nicht verwöhnt, die Technik hat auch nicht wie gewünscht mitgespeilt, so dass etwa 3h Betrieb fehlen. Ziele nicht erreicht, aber trotzdem viel Spaß gehabt. Wir hören uns nächstes Jahr wieder und im September in SSB!!!

Although weather was partly ugly while building up station, it was again a great pleasure for all ops. Condx and number of stations on the bands were acceptable, so we had nearly a constant qso rate over the whole contest.

Von wegen Klimaerwärmung...auch heuer war der Fieldday wieder eine kühle und insbesondere feuchte Veranstaltung.

Mit minimalem Aufwand (2,5 OPs, K2, Butternut, Dipol, 20-m-Groundplane) haben wir die Fahne von Sachsen-Anhalt hochgehalten. Vieles ist noch zu verbessern. Größtes Problem war der fehlende Notebookstrom. Der Wechselrichter fand nach 10 Stunden Betrieb die Spannung zu dürftig und hat uns angepfiffen. Nun musste ich alle zwei Stunden das Notebook wechseln: Log kopieren, Schnittstellen umkonfigurieren und das verbrauchte Notebook zu Hause aufladen. Irgendwie war das in der Theorie anders. Eine Morsetaste hatten wir nicht dabei. Wer braucht schon sowas. Ansonsten: Sonne zum Ende, Regen genau zum Aufbau, viele erfreuliche QSOs und Multis auf 10,15 und 20. Aber auch viele dürftige Stunden. Wir sind relativ zufrieden.

Dieser FD war eine neue Erfahrung mit neuem QTH, mit einer sehr guten Untersützung durch meine YL und einem sehr netten Kollegen aus dem QRL Gefunkt habe ich allein mit einer effektiven Zeit von ca. 20h. Es ist sehr schade, dass man in DL in der non-assisted Klasse keine Einmann- Wertung durchführt. Im nächsten Jahr werde ich wohl wieder dabei sein.

After the last eight NFDs operating around all the UK we decided to take our van to a seaside location in England for 2009. Our QTH was near Tillingham. Essex. Radio K3. Ant. c/f 160m dip. Great fun as ever, even without a good 28MHz opening to EU! Please take a look at the website www.G0AAA.com for pictures.

Weather dry but cold - except when the inspector turned up at which point the heavens opened. Fortunately it had all dried up, including the tents, by the time we had to pack away.

Good 10m Conditions made up for a rather mediocre performance on 160m this year. Many changes. All change in the computers, software and acilliary hardware. Only rig and antenna/ATU the same. Small change of location required some last minute improvising in the antenna support arrangements Had to visit local garden centre and improvise a second support from bamboo canes and cable ties!

As usual, a very enjoyable contest with good support from RADARC club members. A damp Saturday but fortunately our club tent only had a few drips. Managed to sleep through a thunderstorm Sun 0500! Operating times 1504-1901, 2010-0312, 1014-1039, 1213-1234, 1339-1352, total 11:58. Breaks from 1902-2009, 0313-1013, 1040-1212, 1235-1338, each longer than 1 hour as required.

A return to NFD for G3BJ after 10 years. Not a good start - software problems with port drivers delayed us at the start. Incessant rain and gusting winds made it uncomfortable,and the antenna broke at 06.00 To crown it all , the generator failed 75 minutes before the end But it was fun - and we will do better next year

AWFUL WX, thunderstorm lasted for hours &ampersand; caused low score on 160m. During Sunday afternoon only the low 40m dipole could be used, static levels too high on other antennas. Suspect we missed a 10m opening on Sat evening. Seemed lower proportion of /P stations this year from EU, but above average numbers from UK. Rig FT1000. Antennas TH7, Dipoles for 160-80-40 at max height, 40m dipole at 33 feet. logged with N1MM.

We did our traditional Field Day at our traditional location on an island in the Thames between Weybridge and Walton and we had our traditional set of problems. A brand new K3 was put on the air for the first time and it worked well with networked WinTest and two pico-ATX PCs plus a laptop. Our attempt to use a newly designed remotely switched antenna tuner for our 2x40m doublet became a grand fiasco and we ended up using the club's trusted old manually switched tuner which in turn resulted in traditional RF in the shack and we lost in all 3 hours and had to operate with reduced power. We seem to have missed most 10m openings if there were any but we ended up with close to 900 qsos which probably is an all-time record for the club. It rained when we set up, it poured down during the night and it rained again when we took down but it wasn't as bad as it sounds. Great fun as usual, many lessons re-learned as usual - we hope to get another opportunity to learn the lessons again next year.

Wx good for setup but 2 terrible bouts of rain with associated rain static. Conditions seemed a bit up on recent years - but I think we missed the best of 10m. SD / Winkey worked well as usual.

With just two Ops it's a bit of a struggle to stay awake throughout. 'Murphy' struck with our ATU on 80m and we lost 18mins sorting it out. Very noisy during the night - with heavy rain clattering on the roof of our caravan. Great to hear some strong sigs on 10m

Field Day wouldn't be the same if everything went smoothly, but this year was as close as it gets. The weather was kind to us for during set up after a dire forecast. Just one wee problem with the remote ATU power supply radiating all over 160m and 80m, which was easy to solve, and we were away. Heavy static rain came in overnight and caused about 3 hours of misery on the LF bands, but otherwise the generator, equipment and antenna worked well throughout. Even a little activity on 15m and 10m this year.

Condx on 10m seemed ok, from quite an elevated site in GD. LF was very noisy overnight, lots of summer QRN. An enjoyable contest, but with a very small team this year. Our thanks to Robert, GD4GNH, as always for providing the local logistics; including the loan of a FB generator"

1504-1613= 1 hr 9 min, 0349-0445= 57 min, 0922-1248 = 3 hr 26 min, 1359-1432= 33 mins. Total = 6 hours 5 mins. Between QSO 80 and 90 one of the operators started using the call G3ULT/P and sending the M0AAA/P serial number. I think about 6 QSO's had the wrong call sign. I hope the other stations will not lose points because of this.

Terrible weather towards the end of setting uo the station and then the antennas were not working right so had to leave them as we were all wet thru, came back Saturday to more rain, in the end had to compromise with the 40m antenna as the rotary dipole refused to act like an antenna, we then had trouble with both 40 and 80m , but even after all these problems we still had loads of fun and for out first /P outing we did not do too bad.

Quite strong south wind was making us some problems when we were putting up the 3 el. Beam. It was blowing for the whole period of the contest. We decided to enter the high power category this year and we had a lot of fun. As usual, it was a meeting of club members, barbecue was running, a very good weekend indeed!
